About Me

 Hi My name is Lissa! Welcome to Web 2.0 and Beyond! 


I am glad you are here. I am currently an elementary educator who just opened a new door and started my Masters in Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies. I am beginning my journey into Web 2.0. This is a place to not only record my social-media based learning this summer, but to continue it beyond into my future endeavours. 

These are photos I took in Mexico during one of my travel adventures. I saw so much beauty in the entrances and doors of the houses there, I spent the whole day walking around and taking pictures of my favourite ones. I loved how the plant growth overtook the architecture of the entrances-inviting and mysterious at the same time.  

This blog will be my own little intellectual collection of doors. Come join me as I venture down new paths and open new doors along my learning journey.

This week I participated in the Twitter Days of the Week Challenge. What about Web Presence?

Did you know employers aren't googling you to find a reason not to hire you, they are googling you to find a reason to hire you? Gone are the days of googling yourself, making sure that nothing "undesirable" pops up and avoiding anything that might cause context collapse (when people from different communities collide). And ahead of us, are the days of actively building your web presence to take control of your image.  So, what are employers looking for?
